Binding technology greatly shortens the publishing cycle. It makes us bid farewell to the manual operation technology for decades and opens up a new era of binding technology; However, for some printing plants that have just begun to use the binding process, there are often page drops. In view of this situation, let's talk about our experience

I. selection of glue

hot melt adhesive is used for binding. Hot melt adhesive should be glue with high tensile strength, small temperature change, high melt viscosity, high hardness, high tensile strength and fracture elongation. At present, we choose the hot melt adhesive produced by Shandong Academy of Sciences

second, milling back slotting requirements

the basic requirement of milling back is that the innermost page of the hinge must be milled into a single page. If the hinge cannot be milled, it will not stick to the page of the book. It is inevitable that the page will fall after the book is completed. The paper wool milled from the milling back shall be brushed as clean as possible, and the brush for brushing the paper wool shall be replaced frequently. In order to save money, some factories often use hairbrushes bald and do not replace them. Paper wool is brought to the glue pot, resulting in poor adhesion. Our company also produces hydraulic universal testing machine, pressure Yani, friction and wear testing machine, spring testing machine, fatigue testing machine and other sticky phenomena. In order to solve this problem, in addition to replacing the brush frequently, we have designed a wheel type brush by ourselves, which is sleeved on the shaft driven by a small motor and installed behind the original brush. The rotation direction is opposite to the running direction of the book, so as to clean the paper wool twice. The use effect is good

slotting is the key. First of all, let's take a look at the new slotting knife. The tip of the knife is very sharp "∧" shaped. According to our experience, it is found that the tip of the slot opened by this sharp knife is too narrow, so it has a direct impact on the tear resistance of the page. In order to solve this problem, we can start from a production line by tapping the tip of the new slotting knife with a grinding wheel or sandpaper, so that the tip becomes an arc shape. In this way, the bottom of the slot will be somewhat like a "U" shaped bottom, which will relatively increase the adhesive area of the glue, promote the benign interaction between think tank research, government decision-making and enterprise development, thus increasing the tensile force of the glue on the page, and it is not easy to fall off after opening the page Page drop

the depth of the groove we open is kept between 1.2-1.6mm, and the best slotting angle is 60 °, so that the glue can be poured into the groove in sufficient quantity. The distance between slots shall be controlled between 3-5mm, and special attention shall be paid to that the rotation speed of the machine affects the slot spacing

III. The use of glue

the use of glue should consider the characteristics of the binding machine itself. If there is a pre melting pot, it should strictly follow the pre melting method. For example, Shanghai Ziguang disc packaging machine has a pre melting pot. You need to add dry glue to the pre melting pot first, and then pour it into the glue pot after the temperature reaches the standard. Never add dry glue directly to the glue pot. Because the glue pot itself is small, adding dry glue will directly cause the glue temperature to drop, making the glue easy to crack and shelling, resulting in page loss. The Wallenberg binding machine made in Germany does not have a pre melting pot, which requires the operator to add dry glue, not too much at a time, so as not to affect the glue temperature, and to do less and more frequently. Generally, the temperature of glue should be kept at 170 ℃, and the glue pot and glue tank should be cleaned at least once a month to prevent aging glue from being mixed in. For the temperature of glue, don't rely too much on the automatic temperature measurement value of the machine, and it's best to equip a manual thermometer

it should be emphasized that the temperature of the page must not be ignored. When brushing glue, the temperature of the paper will also affect the binding quality. Some factories put the matched pages outdoors and start gluing when they are transported to the workshop. Due to the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor (especially in winter), the temperature of the pages is low, which will also directly affect the binding quality. Therefore, within a few hours before binding, you must first transport the pages to the workshop to minimize the temperature difference and minimize the quality problems caused by the temperature of the pages. The thickness of back glue should generally be controlled at about 1mm
